Ideal for visiting Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas. Lovely hotel overall.
Car park closes early, was not told when by the staff.
It's an annex to another hotel (not indicated in your info!) with no services. It's not illuminated from the road, so taxis can't find it (cost!) - photo from the back, so was looking for a different place. Bare minimum of facilities. I'd have booked into the main hotel (Edgbaston Palace) if I'd known.
the staff are really nice~they helped me to carry the bags to the room, then when i leave the hotel, the helped me to carry out.
near to city centre
too noisy, room too small for a double
Actually they booked me in the Edgbaston Hotel - next door - because both belong to the same owner. so i was a bit disapointed in the beginning, as i was looking forward to a old fashioned (18th) house. But the room in the Edgbaston was good, just modern and not "old" style. Sehr empfehlendswert.
One disadvantage: in the morning might the bus need 45 min. to the New Street Station - i missed my train by two minutes, as the staff told me 30 min. would give me heaps of time.
Location to where I was visiting, was grateful of tea and coffee making facilities. Towels and bed clean, big room tv good.
Looked closed, sign on door said reception next door! Looked like work in progress, no other guests seen, not clear what relationship was with next door hotel, did not feel safe entering hotel or room or leaving it, bathroom fairly good but toilet dirty on arrival and tile missing. Mattress hard. Breakfast offered but no instruction on where it could be obtained.
room was clean and quiet
room was a bit of a squash with the travel cot in, also there wasn't a plug in the bath so not easy to bath the baby! Not very fanily friendly.
food very good
got a ground floor room - but it was changed immediately when I said I wasn't happy with it.
Dampness in the room. Breakfast - average expected more for over £7.00 paid
Good location, budget accommodation that was in a lovely setting. Stayed in room 15 highly recommend that room as it overlooks lovely garden. Bus service almost at doorstep. Cheaper to book online as I stayed an extra night and had to pay an extra £15
Having to be buzzed in each time....but this could also be a positive thing as it meant secure safe accommodation. Would stay there again if i could get room 15.
i have been here before an i found the respectable, polite and friendly with a warm feel and i like the art ex n the few histories of the décor
the lighting and the stairs carpeting could be improved
